It's official MMA is now on network television. Pro elite Inc., the parent company of Elite Xtreme Combat, confirmed to day that they have signed a deal with CBS.According to the press release, the two companies have signed a multi-year agreement that will show 4 live EliteXC events a year. The two-hour live events will be televised on Saturday nights.
"Mixed Martial Arts is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and a wildly popular entertainment vehicle for upscale, young adult audiences." Senior Executive Vice President Kelly Kahl stated.
Very few other details have been released on the deal.
EliteXC was created as a partnership with Showtime Networks in 2000. Showtime is owned by CBS.
