Bearing arms is just so overrated.
Yes, we do: the 20th Century isn't very long ago.
Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, etc. have demonstrated the need for fighting tyranny during this time. (It takes more time than given in boot camp to become proficient with your rifle and your pistol, when you have to go to war against these creeps!)
England, by banning handguns in 1998 and even banning self-defense, has doubled firearms deaths. To reign in the resulting increase in crime, they are considering the removal of trial by jury, the removal of the ban on double-jeapordy, and removal of habeas corpus.
Furthermore, the cities in America that have the highest crime also have the strictest restrictions on owning guns.
These are just a few reasons why we need to bear arms!
